PROFILE
A midfield product from Vancouver Island, Dario Zanatta joined Whitecaps FC Residency in Sept. 2011 after representing his home province of British Columbia.

YOUTH/AMATEUR
Zanatta enjoyed a productive youth career in his hometown of Victoria, BC. From 2002 to 2007, the midfielder played U-6 to U-13 level soccer for the Gorge Soccer Association. In 2007, he was also a member of Victoria United’s U-13 squad in the United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League. From 2008 to 2011, Zanatta played U-14 Metro level soccer with Victoria Capitals. This included British Columbia Coastal Cup and BC Provincial Cup titles with Victoria Capitals U-14’s during the 2010-11 season, with the midfielder being named Most Valuable Player in the BC Provincial Cup final. With Victoria Capitals, Zanatta participated in the 2011 Canadian U-14 Club Championship in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. From 2008 to 2011, the midfielder was also a member of the BC provincial team program at the U-13 and U-14 levels. Zanatta also trained for two seasons in the Canadian Soccer Association’s National Training Program (British Columbia region) as a U-14 player (2009-10 and 2010-11)

PERSONAL
As a student, Zanatta attended Prospect Lake Elementary School in his hometown of Victoria, BC, from 2002 to 2007. As part of the Residency program, Zanatta currently attends Holy Cross Regional High School in Surrey, BC.  

INTERESTING FACTS
Zanatta’s favourite team in Italian giants AC Milan, while his favourite players are the AC Milan pair of Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden) and Alexandre Pato (Brazil), as well as Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich and Netherlands) and Neymar (Santos and Brazil). The midfielder hopes to play at AC Milan’s famous Stadio Giuseppe Meazza one day. When not playing soccer, Zanatta enjoys playing video games, poker, and badminton. His favourite foods are pasta and ribs.
