A striker from Coquitlam, BC, Erik Morden joined Whitecaps FC Residency in Sept. 2011 after being part of the club’s Prospects program and a member of the British Columbia provincial team program.

Morden was a member of Whitecaps FC Prospects, where he trained under Residency staff coach Bart Choufour, from the U-11 to U-13 levels.
Morden started his soccer career with Coquitlam City Snipers at the U-9 level before moving to Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club, where he played a year up for the club’s Spartans side in the Westminster District Youth Soccer Association from the U-11 to U-14 levels. This included league and cup championship titles, as well as District and BC Coastal Cup titles in 2010. In 2011, Morden served as captain of the BC U-13 provincial team and participated in the Umbro Challenge and the Prairie Invitational Tournament in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
As a student in Coquitlam, BC, Morden attended Ranch Park Elementary School from 2003 to 2009. He currently attends Hillcrest Middle School.
Morden’s favourite soccer team is Spanish and European giants Barcelona, while his favourite players are the Barcelona pair of Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Xavi (Spain), as well as Mesut Özil (Real Madrid and Germany) and Neymar (Santos and Brazil). He hopes to play in Barcelona’s famous Camp Nou home one day. The midfielder enjoys many foods – Italian, Japanese, and ice cream. Off the pitch, the striker enjoys biking, skiing, and playing video games.
