Born in North Saanich and raised in Victoria, Evan Gray comes to Whitecaps FC Residency after a promising youth career on Vancouver Island. The young striker most recently played with Mountain FC in the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League.
In 2002, Gray played with Peninsula Soccer Association before moving to Cordova Bay Soccer Club in 2004. Gray then returned to Peninsula Soccer Association in 2007 before heading across to Lower Island Soccer Association in 2008 until 2010. The 6-foot striker then linked back up with Lower Island Soccer Association in 2011. In 2012 he played for Mountain United FC in the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League.
In 2010, Gray had his first stint in the BC Provincial Teams Program. On top of his selection to the PTP, Gray also participated in the National Training Centre at U-14, U-15 and U-16 levels. Among his accolades are a gold medal with the U-14s at the National Championships and a silver medal with the U-16 side.
Gray holds both a Canadian and British Passport. He recently entered the eleventh grade at Burnaby Central Secondary. His parents are David and Cydney Gray, and sister Eliza.
Gray is a fan of Chelsea and his favourite player is Didier Drogba. His dream stadium to play at is Stamford Bridge. The biggest influence on his soccer development has been former coach Harj Nhandra.
Away from the pitch, Gray likes to relax in the sun with friends and go boating. His favourite foods are Italian and steak.
