The midfielder from Celtic Court, Ottawa, joined Vancouver Whitecaps FC in January 2014 after representing his province and country on Team Ontario in 2012 and the Canadian Men’s National Team in 2013.
In 2012, Simmons-O’Grady earned a gold medal with Team Ontario and received the coaches’ award as well as the development award. Before coming to Vancouver, the young midfielder previously played with Ottawa Fury from 2013-14, under coach Jay Da Costa. From 2007 to 2013 the Midfielder played with Capital United. In his youth career the young midfielder was awarded the Most Valuable Player by West Ottawa Soccer Club (WOS). He was the Tournaments Top Scorer and part of the School City Champions.
The 5-foot-9 midfielder represented his country as part of the Canadian Men’s National Team for the U-16 team in 2013 and U-17 team in 2012.
The Midfielder is finishing his secondary studies at St. Patrick’s High School in Vancouver where he currently is in grade 11.The Canadian, has two siblings Sierra-Dawn and Sheldon.
The Ottawa native’s favorite team is Arsenal FC, the gunners from the English Premier league. His favorite player is the famed Brazilian forward Neymar. The stadium that he would most like to play in is the home of Arsenal FC, Emirates Stadium. Off the Pitch Simmonds-O’Grady enjoys spending time with friends and family, and playing FIFA on his game console. His favorite food is pasta and pizza.
