Kyle Jones joins Whitecaps FC from Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club of the BC Soccer Premier League, where he played under his dad, Dan, and was team captain. The dangerous midfielder is a product of Port Moody, BC.
Jones played for Coquitlam Metro-Ford from 2011 to 2013. He has also played for his high school team at Dr. Charles Best, between 2010 and 2012; and he was a part of the prestigious Roman Tulis’ European School of Excellence between 2006 to 2010. At the provincial level, Jones represented British Columbia at the Canada Games this past summer. In 2011, Jones was named the most valuable player of the AAA Provincial Championships while playing for the Dr. Charles Best Tigers.
The 5-foot-5 midfielder is currently in his final year of high school at Dr. Charles Best Secondary in Coquitlam.
The Coquitlam native supports Barclays English Premier League powerhouse, Manchester United, while his favourite professional player is FC Barcelona’s midfield maestro, Andres Iniesta. He one day dreams of playing at his favourite soccer club's legendary home stadium of Old Trafford. Jones’ feels that his dad has been the most instrumental person in his development as a soccer player because he has coached him for almost his entire career. His favourite food is steak.
