VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC PROSPECTS
From 2009 to 2011, Verhoeven was a member of Whitecaps FC Prospects, where he trained under Residency staff coach Bart Choufour.

YOUTH/AMATEUR
Verhoeven started his soccer career with Surrey United Soccer Club from 2007 to 2011. He served as team captain and won a District championship title in the 2009-10 season. In 2009 and 2010, the striker also played in the United Summer Soccer League (USSL) for Guru Nanak (GN) Sporting Club in Surrey, BC. From 2007 to 2010, the striker also trained in the Total Soccer Systems (TSS) Academy in Richmond, BC. In indoor soccer, Verhoeven won three straight Power Tournament championship titles in Richmond, BC.

PERSONAL
As a student in Surrey, BC, Verhoeven has attended Star of the Sea Catholic School since 2004. The striker plans to attend Holy Cross Regional High School.  

INTERESTING FACTS
Verhoeven’s favourite team is Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona, while his favourite players are Lionel Messi (Barcelona and Argentina) and Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich and Netherlands). The stadium which he one day hopes to play in is Real Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The striker enjoys basketball, biking, and hockey as his favourite activities. His favourite food is penne pasta with alfredo sauce.
