A defender from Maple Ridge, BC, Olamide Ajibike joined Whitecaps FC Residency in Sept. 2011 after being part of the club’s Prospects program and a player at Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club. 

VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC PROSPECTS
From 2008 to 2010, Ajibike was a member of Whitecaps FC Prospects, where he trained under Residency staff coach Bart Choufour. The defender appeared for the Prospects’ U-12 and U-13 teams during that time.

YOUTH/AMATEUR/REPRESENTATIVE HONOURS
Ajibike started his soccer career with Pitt Meadows Soccer Club in Pitt Meadows, BC, where he was a member of their Pitt Pride U-11 Select team from 2006 to 2007. The defender then made the move to Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club, where he played from 2007 to 2011. He was a member of Metro-Ford’s Euro side, as well as the Coquitlam club’s U-14 side in the United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League (2010 and 2011). He was also a member of the British Columbia U-13 provincial team in 2010. Ajibike also earned Most Valuable Player honours at youth tournaments in Port Moody, BC.

Ajibike represented Canada's U-15 boys' team at an eight-team tournament in Mexico in June 2012.

PERSONAL
As a student, Ajibike attended Mundy Road Elementary School in Coquitlam, BC (2002 to 2005) and Mount Crescent Elementary School in his hometown of Maple Ridge, BC (2005 to 2010). He now attends Westview Secondary School in Maple Ridge, BC.  

INTERESTING FACTS
Ajibike’s favourite soccer team is English Premier League giants Chelsea FC, while his favourite player is Chelsea and Côte d'Ivoire striker Didier Drogba. The defender would like to play at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge home one day. Off the pitch, he enjoys listening to music, playing video games, being on his computer, and swimming. Pizza and pasta are his favourite foods.
