A striker that calls Burnaby, BC, home, Oluwatomiloa (Tomi) Fagbongbe joined Whitecaps FC Residency after representing his home province of British Columbia.
Fagbongbe’s youth career was spent in Vancouver, BC, where he started with Point Grey Soccer Club on the city’s west side. From 2007 to 2011, the striker played bronze, silver, and gold levels with Point Grey before spending the 2010-11 season playing U-14 Metro level soccer with Vancouver FC, where he was coached by Whitecaps FC players Jason Jordan and Steve Kindel. Fagbongbe was Vancouver FC U-14’s top goalscorer after striking 21 goals in 16 matches. In the summer of 2011, the striker was a member of the BC U-13 provincial team.
As a student, Fagbongbe attended Vancouver’s University Hill Elementary School from 2006 to 2011 before moving to Alpha Secondary School in Burnaby, BC.
The striker is a fan of Spanish club Real Betis and the English Premier League’s Aston Villa FC and Chelsea FC. He is a fan of Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi and former Brazil winger Denilson. Fagbongbe listed Sunderland’s Stadium of Light as a ground he would like to play in one day. Outside of soccer, the striker enjoys longboarding and crafting., while chis favourite meal is pasta and meat balls.
