Selje was a member of the Pre-Residency squad last season, as he captained the team for the 2012-2013 season. Prior to that, Selje played for Surrey United SC from 2005-2012, where he was a part of three league championship teams in 2009, 2011, and 2012.
The 5-foot-3 utility player is currently in the eighth grade at Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School, with an expected graduation in 2017. He names his father, Miki, as the biggest influence on his soccer career because he drives him with his support and making sure he has the best training opportunities available.
Selje's favourite soccer team to watch is German Bundesliga side, VfB Stuttgart. His favourite player in the world is Barcelona and Spain centre-back, Carles Puyol. He one day dreams that he will play soccer in Mercedes-Benz Arena, the homefield of his favourite team. When he is away from the pitch, Selje enjoys hanging out with his friends and keeping active. His favourite food dish is Penne Alfredo.
