Born and raised in Langley, British Columbia, defender Vaggeli Boucas joined Whitecaps FC Residency in September 2012 after captaining Surrey United in the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL).
Boucas played for Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club between 2001 and 2006. He then shifted to Langley United Youth Soccer Association, where he played for the club’s Gold and Metro teams (2007-2010) before ending up at Surrey United in the BCSPL (2011-2012).
The aspiring young player has also competed in provincial competitions at U-13, U-14, U-15 and U-16 levels and played on the U-13 National Training Centre team. He has won gold medals at BC Provincial and National competitions and was captain of Surrey United and the U-16 BC Soccer Provincial team.
The 5-foot-11 defender recently entered his grade eleven year at Burnaby Central Secondary. His parents are Betty and Bill Boucas.
Boucas is a big fan of Manchester United and ranks former Red Devil Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona defensive stalwart Carles Puyol as his favourite soccer players. He says his parents have been the most influential people in his career. He also credits his previous coaches for helping him along the way.
Before taking the field he likes listening to music. Away from the sport, he enjoys hanging out with family and friends and relaxing, while steak and pasta are his favourite foods.
