Whitecaps BCSA U18 Girls Kick OffJanuary 13, 2008This integrated Whitecaps BCSA team of players born in 1990 and 1991 is designed to develop and profile players throughout the province for university, college, W-League and national team opportunities. This Whitecaps BCSA team will also provide transition opportunities to the Whitecaps reserve team. STAFF - Head Coach – Jesse Symons – Head Coach, Girls Prospects - Assistant Coach – Alan Churchard - Support Staff – Includes Bob Birarda, Head Coach Whitecaps Women PROGRAM - This year’s program has a fine balance of top quality training, competition in tournaments and possible integration into the Whitecaps women’s reserve team. Training - Training once a week beginning the end of January, moving to three times a week by mid-April at the Whitecaps Training Center at Simon Fraser University. - The training will conclude with the Surf Cup on August 4th. Competition - San Diego Surf Cup – August 1st to 4th. - Additional event TBA. Pacific Coast Soccer League - Participation in selected Pacific Coast Soccer League games. SELECTION PROCESS The Whitecaps are putting on a number of evaluation sessions over the months of January and February. All evaluations will be held at the Whitecaps training facility, SFU field #4. There is no cost for the evaluation sessions. Open Sessions - Updated Two open evaluation sessions will be held on Friday, February 29. - Session 1 from 6:00 to 7:45pm - Session 2 from 8:00 to 9.45pm Invite only Sessions. - After the first two open evaluation sessions, all other sessions will be invite only, and will run on Tuesdays from 5:30 – 7:00pm from the middle to the end of February. Final Team Selection - The team will be selected by the end of February. (18 players, including two goalkeepers). - Training will begin end of January and the program will conclude with the Surf Cup August 4th.
