PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Supplemental club training for serious and motivated boys and girls in a professional club environment
  • All sessions are developed by Whitecaps FC professional coaching staff and delivered by Whitecaps FC Island regional head coach Claude Bolton and supported by Whitecaps FC staff in Vancouver
  • Monthly visits from Whitecaps FC Vancouver based coaching staff
  • One Showcase weekend to Vancouver to compete in Whitecaps FC's Showcase
  • One MLS weekend to Vancouver to train with Whitecaps FC Residency and Girls Elite coaching staff and watch a Whitecaps FC MLS match
  • Connected through BCSPL Vancouver Island Wave to the ‘Caps Academy Centre network to provide greater exposure and opportunities

U-14 Spring Program

Girls Prospects Group U-14 (1999-2000 players eligible)
Boys Prospects Group U-14 (1999-2000 players eligible)

U-17 Spring Program

Boys Prospects Group U-17 (1996-1998 players eligible)
Girls Prospects Group U-17 (1996-1998 players eligible)

STRUCTURE

U-14 Spring Program

The academy will operate as a 16 week program with two eight week phases.

Training:

  • Girls – Fridays and Sundays
  • Boys – Thursdays and Saturdays
  • Note - Additional sessions for both groups will be added for competition preparation

Phase 1:

  • May 9/10 - Last session in Phase 1

Phase 2:

  • May 11/12 - MLS weekend phase training begins
  • May 18/19 - No sessions due to Victoria Day
  • June 15/16 - Whitecaps FC MLS weekend (training and a Whitecaps FC match in Vancouver)
  • June 27/28 - Last session in MLS weekend phase

U-14 Girls Schedule
Friday, June 21, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 22, 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 23, 11 to 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 26 (NEW), 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Friday, June 28, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

U-14 Boys Schedule
Thursday, June 20, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 22, 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 23, 9 to 10:30 p.m.
Thursday, June 27, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

 

U-17 Spring Program

The academy will operate as a 12 week program with two six week phases.

Training:

  • Girls and boys – at Merle Logan Field (Beban Park)

Phase 1:

  • April 18 - Phase I training begins
  • May 10 to 12 - Whitecaps FC MLS weekend 1 (training and a Whitecaps FC match in Vancouver)
  • May 16 - Last session in Phase I

Phase 2:

  • May 23 - Phase II training begins
  • June 14 to 16 - Whitecaps FC MLS weekend 2 (training and a Whitecaps FC match in Vancouver)
  • June 27 - Last session

U-17 Girls and Boys Schedule
Thursday, June 20, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 22, 11 to 12:30 p.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 23, 11 to 12:30 p.m.
Thursday, June 27, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT

If players are selected to participate they will be asked to commit for the complete program and following payments:

U-14 Spring Program

Fees: Two payment periods of $375

  • Payment 1 - $375 + tax due upon registration
  • Payment 2 - $375 + tax due May 6

U-17 Spring Program

Fees: Two payment periods of $300

  • Payment 1 - $300 + tax due upon registration
  • Payment 2 - $300 + tax due May 6

Payment Notes:

  • Fees include: all event entry fees, coaching fee, and field fee
  • Fees do not include: equipment (see below) and any event travel and accomodation (budgeted $250 per event, including travel, hotel, meals, and Whitecaps FC tickets if applicable)

Apparel: All players require a 2013 Whitecaps FC training kit and track suit. One-time fee, valid for at least two years. To view sizing information, click here.

  • Official Whitecaps FC Academy training kit (shorts, shirt, socks) - $75
  • Official Whitecaps FC Academy track suit - $65

Payment Policies:

  • A non-refundable $25 administration fee is included in the registration
  • NSF cheques are subject to a $20 administration fee
  • Refunds are only issued for medical reasons with a doctor's note
  • Approved refunds include prorating the registration less a non-refundable $25 administration fee
  • Staff reserves the right to refund registration fees if, at an time, the program is deemed not suitable

  • All sessions are developed by Whitecaps FC professional coaching staff and delivered by Whitecaps FC Island regional head coach Claude Bolton and supported by Whitecaps FC Vancouver based staff
  • There will be monthly visits from Whitecaps FC Vancouver based coaches
