Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Prince George Youth Soccer Association/PG Impact partner to provide clear player development pathway in Northern British Columbia.

We are excited to announce the finalization of a partnership between Vancouver Whitecaps FC of Major League Soccer (MLS) and Prince George Youth Soccer Association/PG Impact.

The partnership between the two clubs is to focus on providing one pathway for player development from first kick to professional and collegiate level soccer. The corner stone of this partnership is to allow for a player development first approach where players will be immersed into training environments that are at the same level of provincial programs across the country and tied in with player development opportunities with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC BMO Academy Centre network.

The programming provided through the PG Impact/Whitecaps will be specifically designed to have players in top form as they participate in identification events both locally in Prince George and in Vancouver.

The PG Impact/Whitecaps program will be led by Terrol Russell, who also is the PGYSA & PG Impact Director of Club Operations. Terrol brings vast knowledge of youth soccer from his experience leading the Saskatchewan Soccer Association provincial programming which has seen players make it to MLS, Girls Elite, Canadian National Teams, and Collegiate level with the same recipe of programming.

“The opportunity to partner with the largest soccer association in Northern BC which is being led by a highly talented team of technical staff will open opportunities for players to grow and love the sport” said Marinos Papageorgopoulos, Director, Whitecaps FC BMO Academy Centres.

A full breakdown of identification events for entry into the PG Impact/Whitecaps program will be communicated to you through the PG Impact staff as well as identification events directly with Whitecaps FC.
