Coordinator, People & Culture

Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the Coordinator will assist in providing Human Resources advisory support to all areas of the organization, particularly within the talent acquisition and engagement areas, with full oversight of all administrative functions of the department. This will be a great opportunity to develop HR generalist/leadership expertise and help lead people-related projects in a unique and vibrant organization.

How you will contribute:

  • Full cycle recruitment: support and advise all areas of the organization, including corporate office, soccer operations, and casual/part-time employees: 
  • Prepare and manage job postings, review resumes, conduct phone screens, coordinate interviews, conduct background and reference checks and oversee the offer administration process
  • Innovative sourcing of candidates and standardization of processes, supporting DEI initiatives
  • Execute and optimize onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Work closely with the Director of People & Culture to develop new initiatives to support and improve employee engagement (reward & recognition programs, annual engagement and eNPS processes)
  • Provide exceptional service to internal & external partners in response to inquiries and requests
  • Coordinate and facilitate training & development programs
  • Coordinate performance management programs
  • Manage and administer employee files, ensuring they are up-to-date and within compliance to regulatory requirements (e.g., tracking internal mobility, wage increases and employee memberships)
  • Be an active member of the organization’s social, H&S, and Safe Sport committees
  • Participate in special projects, such as: 
  • Assisting with job design, descriptions and development
  • Assisting with the implementation and training of HR software
  • All other position-related duties as required

What are we looking for:

  • Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience in HR administration, with at least one year of experience directly related to innovative and efficient talent acquisition
  • Degree or diploma in HRM or a related discipline is an asset, as is a CPHR designation which we will support, if needed
  • A passion for understanding and exceeding expectations of internal/external guest needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written:
  • Effective listener and influencer/advisor, confident relationship-builder at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate info sessions
  • Expert at generating detailed, accurate reports & written documents
  • Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge of BC provincial and federal employment-related legislation
  • Ability to take initiative, work well independently as well as collaborate within a strong team environment (including remotely), to make effective decisions through sound judgment, while maintaining diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines
  • Excellent project management skills, specifically with time management, resource allocation and timely communication in order to achieve specified goals, e.g., new policy development, selection and implementation of HR software
  • An understanding of working in a high-profile organization and how it relates to people operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and virtual meeting platforms (MS Teams, Zoom)
  • Ability to support home matches on an occasional evening or weekend
