Operations Crew Member - Part Time

On the pitch, Whitecaps FC is steeped in North American history, dating back to 1974. After making the jump to MLS in 2011, our club has found success year over year. Breaking club point records, continuing the tradition of lifting the Cascadia Cup, winning our first-ever Canadian Championship, and finally bringing the MLS Cup playoffs to BC Place.

The Whitecaps FC mission is To Unite and Inspire Our Communities. To help reach this objective, the club is looking for a qualified and passionate individual to fill the role of Operations Crew Member

In this part time role you will support the operational deliverables at Vancouver Whitecaps FC and auxiliary events throughout the Lower Mainland. Your shifts vary throughout the year based on the MLS schedule. Typically, shifts will be scheduled for up to 2 days before each match, all match days and up to 2 days following each match. You will be available for at least 75% of shifts and have experience working in a labour intensive environment.

How you will contribute:

  • Working within a team of 15-20 event operations crew members to convert BC Place stadium to a Whitecaps FC branded stadium.
  • Install field boards, signage and other brand elements.
  • With direction from the Operations Lead, deliver on match-day requirements such as installation of seat wraps, partnership activations and field set-up.
  • Support the movement, set-up and care of the event operations inventory.
  • Deliver, set-up and tear down brand and soccer related elements (tents, flags, banners) at non-match day Whitecaps special events.

What are we looking for:

  • Must work extremely well in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and ability to take direction from others is required
  • Must be able to comfortably lift 60lbs.
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Strong communication skills
  • Pro-active and resourceful outlook
  • Clean Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position will require weekend and evening work.


Operations Crew team members will be scheduled in accordance with the Whitecaps FC home match schedule, with strong consideration given to performance.  It is requested that all Operations Crew members provide availability for at least 12 matches though there is no guarantee of shifts.
