PROFILE
An experienced and commanding goalkeeper, David Ousted joined Vancouver Whitecaps FC on June 20, 2013. The Greve, Denmark native came to Vancouver after spending the previous three seasons with Danish Superliga club Randers FC, where he earned 35 clean sheets in 103 appearances with the Horses. Ousted has one cap for the Danish U-19 national team in a friendly versus the Czech Republic in 2003 and was also called into camp with his country's U-20 and U-21 youth national teams. A runner-up for the 2015 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, he was named to the MLS All-Star Game in 2015 and 2016. He is the club's all-time leader among goalkeepers in MLS starts, minutes played, wins, clean sheets, and saves. On November 27, 2017, Whitecaps FC announced that the club will not exercise the option on his contract.

2017:
Ousted made 28 starts in the regular season, compiling a 13W-8L-6D record and a team-high six clean sheets and 90 saves, while also recording a 1.39 goals-against average and 68.2 save percentage. 2016: Ousted appeared in 33 of the 'Caps 34 regular season matches, compiling a 10W-15L-8D record with six clean sheets. His finished with a 1.58 goals-against average as well as 110 saves, fifth-best in MLS and establishing a new club MLS single-season record. Ousted was named to the MLS Team of the Week four times. In Week 6, he set a new WFC record with nine saves versus D.C. United. In Week 11, he stopped a Jozy Altidore penalty kick in the ‘Caps 4-3 win over Toronto FC. On June 18, Ousted made his 100th MLS appearance with Whitecaps FC (including playoff matches) against New England Revolution. Ousted was also selected to the inactive roster for the MLS All-Star Game held on July 28. 2015: Ousted had a banner year in his second full season with Whitecaps FC, playing every minute in MLS competition while finishing second in voting for the 2015 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award. He was also selected to the MLS All-Star Game, where he kept a second-half clean sheet in a 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur. Ousted manned the net for a ‘Caps side that conceded the fewest goals in MLS (tied with Seattle Sounders FC). He had 13 clean sheets (tied for the league-high), 16 wins (second in MLS), and three penalty saves (league-high). Ousted was a four-time MLS Save of the Week winner, the MLS Player of the Month for June (the only goalkeeper to receive the honour this season), and had four saves up for MLS Save of the Year. In the MLS Cup Playoffs, Ousted started both legs of the Western Conference Semifinal versus Portland Timbers, recording a clean sheet in the first leg. 2014: Ousted saw every minute of MLS action during his first full season as the ‘Caps starter, and was dominant, racking up a league-leading 13 clean sheets (breaking both the club’s single-season and career records for the stat). 2013: After joining the team mid-season, Ousted started 13 matches for Whitecaps FC, recording four clean sheets. The Danish goalkeeper made his MLS debut at Jeld-Wen Field versus Portland Timbers on August 3, backstopping the Blue and White to a well-earned 1-1 draw. A week later in a 2-0 win over San Jose Earthquakes on August 10, Ousted recorded his first clean sheet in MLS play.

CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
2016-17:
Ousted started each of the 'Caps four matches in the knockout round of the 2016-17 CCL tournament, recording a shutout versus New York Red Bulls in the decisive leg of the quarterfinal series.

CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP
2016:
Ousted made one tournament appearance, starting the second leg of the CC final versus Toronto FC. He collected three saves in the 2-1 win but TFC scored in added time to win the Voyageurs Cup on away goals. 2015: Ousted started the decisive second leg of the CC final versus Montreal Impact, recording a clean sheet to help the ‘Caps win their first-ever Voyageurs Cup.

2013:
Ousted made his first start for the 'Caps on July 7, backstopping the Blue and White to a 4-0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC reserves.  

DANISH SUPERLIGA
2012-13:
In his third season with Randers FC, Ousted started all 33 games in domestic play for his club as they finished third in the Danish top flight and reached the final of the Danish Cup. During the 2013 campaign, Ousted recorded 14 clean sheets, with six of those coming in Randers’ run to the Danish Cup final. In large part to Ousted’s goalkeeping, his former club qualified for the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League. 2010-11: In his first season since transferring to Randers FC, Ousted made 29 appearances for the club in domestic play and started all six games during their UEFA Europa League qualifiers. Randers finished 11th that season, and were relegated to the Danish First Division. 2009-10: In his final season with SønderjyskE before joining Randers for the allure of playing in the Europa League, he started every one of the club’s domestic matches as the club finished ninth in the league standings that year. 2008-09: In his second season with SønderjyskE, Ousted started 15 times for the Danish club as they finished 10th in the Danish top flight. 2003-06: Ousted began his professional soccer career with Danish giants Brondby IF.

DANISH FIRST DIVISION
2011-12:
In his second season with Randers, Ousted had 11 clean sheets in 24 appearances. His club finished second in the Danish First Division, and thus were promoted back to the Danish Superliga, marking the second time he has backstopped a team to promotion. Ousted made his debut for Randers in the UEFA Europa League with a 6-1 win versus F91 Dudelange. 2007-08: In his first season with SønderjyskE, Ousted contributed to the club’s promotion to the Superliga, as they finished second to Vejle BK. 2006-07: The 6-foot-3 goalkeeper had a short stint at Hellerup IK, appearing in 16 matches.
