He received a medal from the president of Estonia in 2000 for his help developing the game as national team coach from 1996-99. No. 135 in FIFA rankings in February, 1996; No.70 in December, 1999. 3. Thordarson said that Estonia only had 20 men's players with passports when he arrived, due in part to problems with Russia. Estonia only gained its independence in 1991. 4. Younger brother Olafur, 42, coaches Fram Reykjavik in Iceland. Olafur played for Iceland vs. Estonia when Teitur was coaching in 1996. 5.
