Vancouver Whitecaps U-16 Girls Prospects continued their prolific scoring ways on Saturday morning with a 7-2 win over Les Bois United U-16 side at the Idaho Invitational Challenge.The Whitecaps did not get off to a good start, as Les Bois forced an early goal-line clearance from Nikki Segovia before taking the lead against their Canadian visitors on 13 minutes.Jesse Symons' side leveled three minutes later, as Katie Turney converted Nikki Ambrose's through ball for 2-1. Turney then turned provider for Ambrose with a corner on 28 minutes. Ambrose struck home on the rebound after Taylor Shannik's initial bicycle kick attempt was cleared off the goal-line.The Whitecaps extended their lead on 33 minutes, as Melissa Horahan took an Emily Yamaguchi throw-in before dribbling across Les Bois' box and slotting the ball into the bottom corner of the goal. Les Bois pulled a goal back when Whitecaps goalkeeper Amy Nadasdi was beaten with a chipped finish on 39 minutes, as the Whitecaps took a 3-2 lead into halftime.The second half belonged to Vancouver, with Turney knocking home a Shannik cross before she turned provider for Jenny Dunn, who made it 5-2. Karm Jawandah then sealed the win with two late goals of her own, striking home a Maryse Reichgeld corner on 65 minutes before finding the top right corner of Les Bois' goal from 35 yards out three minutes later.

Vancouver Whitecaps U-16 Girls Prospects came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw with Oregon's FC Willamette U-17's in their second game on Saturday.Jesse Symons' side ran into an in-form goalkeeper from Willamette, as Jaclyn Sawicki was denied on 12 minutes before the Oregon shot-stopper kept out an effort from Katie Turney three minutes later.Melissa Horahan was the next Whitecaps player to be left frustrated by the Willamette keeper on 18 minutes before the American club took the lead on 27 minutes, as Whitecaps goalkeeper Gurveen Clair was beaten on the rebound after making an initial save.The second half saw the Whitecaps go in search of the equalizer, but Nicole Setterlund missed a big chance from six yards out after knocking Emily Yamaguchi's cross over the Willamette crossbar before Horahan missed the target on the break minutes later.Vancouver's pressure finally paid off on 70 minutes, as good combination play between Sawicki and Turney on the right saw a cross played into Jenny Dunn, and she volleyed past the Willamette keeper for 1-1.The Whitecaps could have won the contest five minutes later, but Tejvir Malhi missed the target after being put in clear on goal.
