Match 3 - Adam Straith's Blog

Day #6

Somehow overnight the storm of the year cleared up and it was another sunny day, from what I've heard Vancouver is still pretty ugly. At least some of us are getting a real spring break. I'm going to be honest, it would be a lot easier writing to you guys after a win than a tie or loss, but hopefully we wont have to wait too much longer....

Today's game was a classic tale of two halves. Whatever team had the wind at their back seemed to get the success. In the first half, we were faced with tons of pressure. It was a battle trying to relieve the pressure because the wind would blow the ball right back into our faces. In the second half though, we turned the momentum to our side and put them under quite a bit of pressure. It was good to see the team unite and fight back to get a result, it was a good showcase of our teams character. It wasn't the prettiest game, but it had a lot of heart.

After the game some of the boys had the chance to spend some time with their families. It was very nice to be able to get away from the stress of the tournament for a couple of hours and spend time with my family, gave me time to unwind and kick back a little. The boys who's families didn't come down all went to Pizza Hut Park to watch a couple of the feature games of the day: Chivas vs Benfica, which ended up 2-2 and Leicester City vs Sau Paulo, which ended up 3-1 for the English boys. Later, we rendezvoused back at the hotel, everyone with their own stories of what they did all day.

Tomorrow is another day off for us, We'll have to see what the Coaches have planned.

Until tomorrow.... have a good one. Adam
