Larry Campbell wading in on Whitecaps stadium debate - CKNW

Former Vancouver mayor-turned senator Larry Campbell is wading into the now-deadlocked negotiations over the proposed Whitecaps waterfront stadium.

Campbell says he'll be calling federal international trade minister David Emerson and transport minister Lawrence Cannon to help.

The talks between the port of Vancouver and the Vancouver Whitecaps have stalled over land transfer issues.

Campbell says he also wants to meet with team officials.

"I’ve got a call into Bob Lenarduzzi and I’m going to try to set up a meeting with him and Mr. Kerfoot and see if we can't get this back on the rails."

Campbell says he thinks the stadium would be a great addition to the waterfront, and hopes city council will get more involved.
