Vancouver Whitecaps FC have announced that over 30,000 tickets have been sold for the May 13 international friendly versus the Los Angeles Galaxy - featuring David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Ante Jazic.
The international friendly, presented by the Edmonton Sun, will be a rematch of last November’s 0-0 draw in Vancouver, which was played in front of 48,172 fans at BC Place Stadium.
"We are thrilled with the response we have received to date," said Vancouver Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi. "Tickets sales have steadily increased the last two weeks and with both teams arriving tomorrow, we anticipate the interest to increase ten-fold. As the first major outdoor sporting event in Edmonton this year, we look forward to providing a very exciting and entertaining match."
The Whitecaps versus Galaxy match will be played at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium on Tuesday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m. Individual tickets range in price from $25 - $85 and are available through Ticketmaster by calling 780.451.8000 or by visiting

Fans who have already purchased their tickets through Ticketmaster and have not yet picked them up, are encourage to visit any Ticketmaster location, in advance of the match, to avoid long line-ups. The gates at Commonwealth Stadium will open at 6:00 p.m. on match night.
