Arze and Cann in Team of the Week

Vancouver Whitecaps centre back Adrian Cann and midfielder Vicente Arze have both been named to the latest USL First Division Team of the Week.

Cann earned the Week Six honour after helping Teitur Thordarson's side to two clean sheets in a Victoria Day goalless draw at Montreal Impact and last Saturday's 1-0 win at Portland Timbers. The Thornhill, Ontario, native has since joined the Canadian men's national team for their upcoming friendlies against Brazil in Seattle, Washington, and Panama in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Bolivian winger Arze made the weekly all-star XI after scoring the Whitecaps game winner in Portland on the weekend. The goal was the South American's first since signing for the club in the off-season.

Arze is joined the team's midfield by USL-1 Player of the Week in Jeremiah Bass. The Minnesota Thunder player recorded a goal and an assist in their 3-1 home win over Miami FC Blues on Saturday. Bass' teammate Ricardo Sanchez and Martin Nunez from Carolina RailHawks were also selected in midfield.

Cann was joined by fellow defenders Luke Kreamalmeyer from Rochester Rhinos and Nelson Akwari from Charleston Battery. Montreal goalkeeper Matt Jordan claimed the goalkeeper spot after his eight saves against the Whitecaps a week last Monday.

Three forwards also made the Week Six squad. Rochester's Mauricio Salles, Sebastien Le Toux from Seattle Sounders, and Miami's Alex Afonso each earned a place in the team.
