In PDL play, Whitecaps Residency downed Spokane Spiders 2-0 on Friday and battled Abbotsford Mariners to a scoreless draw on Sunday . . . In PCSL action, the Prospects Men's unbeaten streak ended at two games with a 4-1 loss to PSSA Rapids, while the Prospects Women had their five-game winning streak snapped with a 2-0 loss to Surrey United. In the Super Y-League, all three WFC affiliate teams were in action. Surrey swept a two-game series from Spokane on Friday, while Coastal took three of four wins from Abbotsford on Saturday and battled the West Coast Capitals to two wins and a draw on Sunday. PDL Recap – Residency down Spokane and draw Mariners Coming off a Friday night 2-0 home win over the visiting Spokane Spiders, the Whitecaps Residency PDL team managed a scoreless draw with Abbotsford Mariners on Sunday afternoon at Simon Fraser University. Head Coach Bart Choufour felt the game might have had a different outcome, had early chances been taken by his young side. "We just didn't have the energy in the second half, which was disappointing," he told whitecapsfc.com. Women’s Prospects report here Super Y-League Review  Surrey Stall Spokane With Surrey WFC having last weekend off and all four teams losing close matches against strong Abbotsford opposition on June 1, the club bounced back when their U-13 and U-14 Boys beat Spokane Spiders on June 14, with scores of 1-0 and 4-1 respectively. Coastal cruise past Mariners and Capitals  On Saturday, Coastal swept three of four games when the club visited the Mariners at Bateman Park in Abbotsford. The U-13 boys (2-0 result), U-14 girls (6-0 result), and the U-15 Girls (2-0 result) all came away victorious, with the only loss being a 3-2 setback suffered by the U-14 Boys. On Sunday, Coastal faced the West Coast Capitals from Victoria, with the U-14 and U-16 Girls claiming 2-1 and 2-0 wins respectively, while the U-15 Girls came away with a 1-1 draw. Mountain tops Abbotsford in weekend series With all eight teams visiting Abbotsford on Sunday, the club came away with a dominating seven wins. With only the previously undefeated U-16 Boys coming away with a tough-to-swallow 3-1 defeat. With the win, Abbotsford takes over number one spot in the U-16 Boys division, one point up on second place Mountain - although with one more game played. Super Y Affiliate report here
