Hansen's efforts earn look from Whitecaps - Times Colonist

Liz Hansen of the Victoria Stars, leading scorer in the Pacific Coast Soccer League women's division with 17 on the season, notched three goals over the weekend at Hampton Park.

The star sniper was rewarded with a call-up to the pro Vancouver Whitecaps of the USL women's league.

Hansen, a graduate of the UVic Vikes, will play for the Whitecaps tonight in Seattle.

Her goal yesterday gave the Stars a 1-1 tie with the Tri-City X-treme. Hansen scored twice in Saturday evening's 3-1 victory over Fraser Valley Action with Amy Thorogood scoring the other Stars goal.

The Stars moved to 12-1-1 on the season.

In PCSL men's action, Victoria United remained undefeated by outgunning the Seattle Wolves 4-2 yesterday at Royal Athletic Park. The United, 9-0-3 on the season, beat the Okanagan Challenge 5-1 on Saturday at RAP.
