Weekly honours for Whitecaps pair

Vancouver Whitecaps pair of captain Jeff Clarke and forward Eduardo Sebrango have been named in the latest USL First Division Team of the Week.

Clarke earned the honour for Week 13 after a stellar performance at centre back during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Carolina RailHawks at Swangard Stadium. He is joined by goalscorer Sebrango, who makes the weekly all-star XI for the fourth time this season after striking Vancouver's second-half equalizer against Carolina on Sunday. The Cuban hit-man was previously named in the USL-1 Team of the Week in Weeks One, Four, and Eight of the 2008 campaign.

The top player for Week 13 was Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Chris Eylander, as his 10 saves at Saputo Stadium gave the defending USL-1 champions a 1-0 victory over the struggling Montreal Impact.

In the team's defensive back-line, Clarke was joined by Puerto Rico Islanders' Nigel Henry, Montreal's Nevio Pizzolitto, and Danny Earls from Rochester Rhinos. The three-man midfield included Puerto Rico's Noah Delgado, Carolina's Santiago Fusilier, and Sean Cameron from Miami FC Blues.

Sebrango, meanwhile, was one of three strikers to be selected, with new Carolina acquisition Hamed Diallo and Minnesota Thunder goalscorer Melvin Tarley the other forwards to make the league's first XI this week.

Also earning a Week 13 honour was Whitecaps women's team striker Tiffeny Milbrett. Her two goals and an assist in Sunday's 3-1 home win over Fort Collins Force earned her a place in the latest USL W-League Team of the Week.
