PoCo council backs Vancouver's plan to lure soccer franchise - The Now

Coquitlam NOW Port Coquitlam council passed a motion Monday supporting Vancouver's efforts to acquire a Major League Soccer franchise. Coun. Greg Moore, who introduced the motion, identified soccer as Port Coquitlam's top sport by participation and applauded efforts to bring another top-tier team to the Lower Mainland. Moore arrived at Monday's meeting toting the blue and white scarf worn by supporters of the Vancouver Whitecaps, the city's existing United Soccer Leagues franchise
