The Vancouver Whitecaps are going to the United Soccer Leagues' First Division final for the second time in three years. The 2006 champions beat the Montreal Impact 2-0 on Sunday at Swangard Stadium to win the two-game, total-goals series 2-1 on aggregate.

Jeff Clarke beat Montreal goalkeeper Matt Jordan from almost 35 yards in the 37th minute for the winner. Eduardo Sebrango added the insurance marker in the 41st with an assist from fellow ex-Impact Charles Gbeke.

"It felt good when it left my foot. The ball was bobbling in the field and it just knuckled in," Clarke said. "Sometimes it goes in row Z. Sometimes it goes top corner."

Rookie goalkeeper Tyler Baldock of Surrey made three saves for the shutout in his first appearance at Swangard in relief of Jay Nolly. Nolly was red-carded in Friday's 1-0 loss at Montreal for striking Antonio Ribeiro in the 52nd minute.
