Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency maintained their 100 per cent record on their 12-day tour of Japan after an impressive 3-0 victory over Gamba Osaka U-19's on Thursday.

After wins over Vissel Kobe and Kyoto Sanga, Thomas Niendorf's side defeated a third U-19 team from a J.League Division One club to make it four wins out of four in the Far East nation. Randy Edwini-Bonsu added to his impressive goalscoring total, while Bobby Jhutty also found the scoresheet for the visiting Canadian side.

Playing on a turf surface at Gamba's training facility, the Whitecaps put in a complete performance against a physical Gamba side, whose first team won the 2008 Asian Champions League title last month and are set to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinals on Sunday.

Vancouver took the lead on 23 minutes when Jhutty finished well from the edge of Gamba's box after Edwini-Bonsu had made a dangerous forward run in the build-up.

The young 'Caps showed they were able to deal with the qualities of their Gamba hosts, as they refused to back down at any stage of Thursday's friendly contest.

On 71 minutes, Edwini-Bonsu scored his seventh goal of the tour to increase the Residency team's advantage to 2-0. Four minutes later, the Edmonton, Alberta, native struck his eighth goal in Japan to secure another impressive result for Whitecaps Residency.

Niendorf's squad have one match remaining before returning home to Vancouver, as they face Himeji Club on Saturday afternoon.
