Nash and Reda earn weekly accolades

Vancouver Whitecaps captain
Martin Nash
and centre back
Marco Reda
have both been named in the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week Three.

The experienced pair earned the weekly nods after finding the scoresheet in both Whitecaps matches last week. Reda was named in the weekly all-star XI after scoring the opening goal in Vancouver's 1-1 draw at USL-1 expansion club Austin Aztex last Tuesday night. Nash made the team after striking a fine winner in Saturday's 1-0 home victory over Pacific Northwest rivals Portland Timbers.

Rochester Rhinos goalkeeper Scott Vallow made the squad after claiming a clean sheet in their goalless draw at Puerto Rico Islanders. He was joined by defenders Cristian Dias (Miami FC Blues), Ryan Caugherty (Austin Aztex), and John Gilkerson (Carolina RailHawks).

Three midfielders joined Nash in being selected this week. Carolina's Brian Plotkin, Charleston Battery's Tsuyoshi Yoshitake, and Puerto Rico's Noah Delgado were all chosen, as was Rochester forward Johnny Menyongar.

Austin striker Eddie Johnson was the USL-1 Player of the Week for Week Three. The former Manchester United player scored twice and had an assist in the Aztex's 3-0 home win over Cleveland City Stars on Saturday - their first-ever win as a USL-1 club.
