Whitecaps women at Mercer
Tomorrow’s Vancouver Whitecaps women’s game at Mercer Stadium is the first of a three-match series in partnership with the Girls Metro Soccer League. The second is July 1, 4 p.m., at Swangard Stadium against the Ventura County Fusion with the final match in Coquitlam on July 5.
The half-time show at Mercer will feature a game of futsal, a version of soccer being developed by the Royal City Youth Soccer Club. Players from the club’s under-nine to U-18 teams will play from 9 a.m. to noon to determine who will play during half-time.
