See Vancouver Whitecaps players at the second annual Kick for a Cure in Port Moody tomorrow (Saturday).
The soccer tournament, called Kick for a Cure 2009, raises awareness and money for the Coquitlam-based Michael Cuccione Foundation, which has a lab at the BC Children’s Hospital and aims to fight childhood cancer.
It is also held in memory of Dominic Mobilio, a former Whitecaps player who died in 2004. At the time, Mobilio — a cousin of Cuccione’s — had been named the head coach of B.C.’s under-16 girls provincial soccer team. Last year’s Kick brought in $5,000 for the foundation.
Tomorrow’s gathering starts at 1 p.m. at Heritage Woods secondary school, 1300 David Ave.
