BURNABY — The Vancouver Whitecaps lost for the second time in as many nights, falling 2-1 to the Charleston Battery at home on Friday night.
Darren Spicer (24th minute) and Randi Patterson (35) scored for the Battery (11-3-8), who moved into the USL First Division lead with the win. Martin Nash replied with a late goal for the Caps (7-9-4) in the 80th minute.
The Whitecaps had lost 1-0 in Portland on Thursday. They sit sixth in the USL's First Division.
The Caps have a week off before facing the Carolina RailHawks next Saturday at Swangard Stadium. © Copyright (c) The Province
