Tarley scores late as Thunder salvage 1-1 draw with Whitecaps - Canadian Press

BLAINE, Minn. — Melvin Tarley scored in the 87th minute as the Minnesota Thunder salvaged a 1-1 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps in United Soccer Leagues First Division action Friday. Ricardo Sanchez's corner from the left found the unmarked Tarley in front of the Whitecaps goal. With time and space, the Thunder substitute headed home the tying goal. Marcus Haber scored for Vancouver in the 35th minute on a header. It was Haber's seventh goal in the USL First Division this season. Vancouver (9-9-9) remained in the league's seventh and final playoff position. Minnesota (5-12-9) kept its slim playoff hopes alive with the point. Copyright © 2009 The Canadian Press.
