Happy Holidays!

With the holiday season nearly upon us, everyone at Vancouver Whitecaps FC would like to wish our fans the very best over the holiday period and for 2010.

We look forward to a new and exciting season in the New Year after an eventful campaign in 2009, which culminated in the men's team reaching the United Soccer Leagues First Division championship final for a second straight year.   Though we are in the middle of our offseason, Whitecaps staff have been working hard preparing for 2010. Our season ticket campaign is in full swing, while men's team head coach Teitur Thordarson continues to build an exciting squad towards our final season at Swangard Stadium. Our Residency program had a successful start to its third year of existence, with Thomas Niendorf's young squad enjoying a highly productive trip to Madrid, Spain, last month. The women's team will also be hoping for a successful 2010 under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Hubert Busby Jr.

The Whitecaps youth development program will also be looking for more success in the New Year. 2009 saw the Whitecaps Prospects Women's team win the Pacific Coast Soccer League Premier Division championship title and represent British Columbia at the 2009 Canada Games in Prince Edward Island. Jesse Symons' side went on to win women's soccer gold for Team BC last August. Last month, two Whitecaps and BC Soccer 'Professional Development Partner' teams won Coastal WFC's first-ever USL Super Y-League North American championship titles, as the U-16 Girls and U-16 Boys were triumphant in Tampa, Florida.
