MLS season tickets approach 13,000

Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that sales of season ticket deposits for Vancouver’s inaugural season in Major League Soccer are quickly approaching the 13,000 mark (representing approximately 80 per cent of all season tickets). Almost 3,000 deposits have been sold during the second phase of deposit sales, which opened to the public this past Saturday morning.

"Last week, we made a number of historical announcements and the feedback we have received from our fans has been great, but perhaps most impressive has been the interest we've had in tickets," said Whitecaps FC chief executive officer Paul Barber. "We’ve now sold close to 13,000 season ticket deposits, which represent almost 80 per cent of our total available season tickets – and we’re still nine months away from the start of our season. With so few tickets now remaining, we urge people to act now to secure their season tickets, as we anticipate the remaining inventory will sell quickly."

Empire Fields Tour MLS season ticket prices for 2011 start at $319, and will include a minimum of 17 matches throughout the season. For additional information about MLS season ticket deposits, please visit
