Vancouver Whitecaps FC reserves defeated Trinity Western University 3-1 in a friendly scrimmage on Tuesday afternoon.

Looking to give some of his squad players more game action, head coach
Teitur Thordarson
took a squad of men's team players and Whitecaps FC Residency youngsters to Spartan Sports Complex in Langley, BC, for a game versus Pat Rohla's Spartans. The squad included summer signing
Davide Chiumiento
, who played 45 minutes for the Blue and White.

Interviews
The first half saw the 'Caps spend most of their time in the Trinity Western half, but not break the deadlock until just before halftime.
La'Vere Corbin-Ong
's throw-in found Arnoux at the Spartans byline. The former Wake Forest University star's cutback pass found
Randy Edwini-Bonsu
, whose strike flew past the Trinity Western goalkeeper for a 1-0 Vancouver lead at the break.

The second half saw young 'Caps striker
Doudou Toure
earn three penalties for Whitecaps FC. However, the first two spot kicks missed their intended target, as Edwini-Bonsu had his penalty saved, while Arnoux's chipped effort flew over the crossbar. This after Trinity Western drew level at 1-1 from a free kick opportunity.

The third Vancouver penalty would find the back of the net, as Toure struck home his spot kick. The 'Caps then sealed the win through
Nizar Khalfan
, as the Tanzanian international hammered a shot home from the edge of the Trinity Western box.
