Bruce Allen joins the judging panel for the Whitecaps FC anthem singer contest

Bruce Allen

Vancouver Whitecaps FC are not messing around when they say they want the best singing talent in the British Columbia to compete for the chance to be the official anthem singer for the 2011 season.

The club have even enlisted the help of local music industry heavyweight, Bruce Allen, of Bruce Allen Talent to join our panel of esteemed judges.

Allen is a major player in the music industry and has guided the careers of a number of popular musicians and producers. They include Bryan Adams, Michael Bublé, Jann Arden, and Bob Rock. Allen will be attending the live auditions at Empire Field to critique the finalists of the competition, which are scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 10th.

What will Allen be looking for in an anthem singer? “I'm looking for someone who can sing the anthem in a manner that'll bring the crowd into the performance. Get the tempo right and sing it with power.”

Whitecaps FC could not be happier to have Allen on board for the audition process. His experience provides a great opportunity for amateur singers to have the chance to be critiqued by an industry professional. Allen’s shrewd judgment of talent should make for a very interesting and insightful experience for the finalists.

The window to submit audition videos will close on Monday, March 7th, at 9 a.m. PT. All videos can be seen on the club’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/Whitecapsfc by clicking the “Video Channel” link.
