Vancouver Whitecaps FC today announced the release of an additional 2,500 single game tickets to the highly-coveted inaugural MLS season opening match versus Toronto FC at Empire Field on Saturday, March 19th. The club also announced NBA superstar and two-time MVP Steve Nash, who is also a Whitecaps FC co-owner, will be on hand at kickoff to welcome fans and officially open the season for the club.

“To ensure fans get a chance not to miss this historic day and attend what promises to be an incredible afternoon for the club and for the city, we’re pleased to now offer another 2,500 single game tickets to the home opener," said Vancouver Whitecaps FC chief executive officer Paul Barber. "The club is also thrilled to announce Steve Nash as our chief guest. He will lead us into our season opener and specifically into the Whitecaps FC official anthem 11 days from now. Steve’s star power, high energy, and enthusiasm will be an exciting way to open the match and add to the game time experience we have planned."

Alongside various group sales activities, Whitecaps FC opened sales of single match tickets for the first three games at Empire Field last month and sold 2,500 tickets in 24 hours for the Toronto FC match alone. Individual match tickets range from $20 to $55 (including HST), plus applicable service charges and fees, and are available in all price categories.
