VANCOUVER, BC- Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that kickoff for the Major League Soccer match versus New York Red Bulls on Bell Pitch at Empire Field on Saturday, May 28, has been changed to 2:30 p.m. PT. Individual match tickets range from $20 to $55 (including HST), plus applicable service charges and fees, and are available at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centres, online at ticketmaster.ca, or Charge-by-Phone at 1.855.6.GO-CAPS.
The highly anticipated match is also part of the ‘I (HEART) NY’ match pack, which includes the Manchester City FC friendly match and three other coveted MLS matches.
"With a number of exciting sporting events happening during that day, we looked to best accommodate our fans in order to support our team," said Whitecaps FC chief executive officer Paul Barber. "May 28th promises to be a thrilling day for sports fans and we look forward to having another vibrant atmosphere at Empire Field, as we welcome some of the biggest stars in Major League Soccer."
Among the Red Bulls roster is former French international Thierry Henry, who won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and 2000 UEFA European Championship titles with his country, as well as the UEFA Champions League title with Spanish giants FC Barcelona. Mexican international captain Rafael Márquez and Canadian international and MLS All-Star Dwayne De Rosario also make up a very strong New York side. The Red Bulls currently sit in first place in the MLS Eastern Conference standings with a record of 4W-2L-3D.
In addition to individual match tickets, Whitecaps FC fans also have the option of purchasing three exciting new match packs. Starting at just $159, the match pack options - GOING HOLLYWOOD, I (HEART) NY, LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR? - all include the Manchester City FC friendly match, valued at $60, and four coveted MLS matches.
