United Soccer Leagues W-League announced on Tuesday that Whitecaps FC women’s midfielder Tiffany Weimer (Bridgeport, Conn.) has been named to the 2011 All-League Team. The announcement comes a day after Weimer was named to the All-Western Conference Team, along with teammates Kelsey Hood (Ankeny, Iowa) and Sydney Leroux (Surrey, BC).

The first signing of the 2011 campaign for the Whitecaps FC women’s squad this season, Weimer has proven to be an offensive force. Evidence of her attacking prowess comes in the form of seven goals and four assists for a total of 18 points, good for sixth overall in the W-League. The native of Bridgeport, Connecticut, made an impact right from the start, scoring six goals in her first six matches. Most recently, she helped Whitecaps FC win the W-League Western Conference Final in a thrilling 4-3 victory against Santa Clarita Blue Heat.

In addition to her W-League accolades, Weimer was also voted Whitecaps FC women’s team Fan Favourite this year while assuming the role of Whitecaps FC Women’s Ambassador.

Weimer is one of five players on the All-League Team who will be participating in this weekend’s W-League Championship ‘Final Four’. She will be joined by Atlanta Silverbacks midfielder Megan Tomlinson, as well as the Ottawa Fury trio of defender Amanda Fancher, midfielder Jessica Schufelt, and striker Mallory Outerbridge - herself a former Whitecaps FC player.
