Vancouver Whitecaps FC are looking ahead to their next match against MLS expansion side Portland Timbers this Saturday. Will the ‘Caps have what it takes to shore up their defensive woes against D.C. United and get a result this weeked? (Bruce Constantineau – Vancouver Sun)

Though it'll be a tough challenge to make the playoffs, the ‘Caps still have an opportunity to claim some silverware as they travel down the I-5 to battle the Timbers (Marc Weber – The Province).

As many international players have been flocking to North America, MLS unveiled yesterday a change to the Designated Player rule that could bring younger stars to the league (Marc Weber – The Province).

After spending some time training in preparation for the 2011 Homeless World Cup, Whitecaps FC players helped send Team Canada off to Paris last night (Vancouver Observer).
