VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:
Currently sitting in third place in Major League Soccer’s goalscoring category, Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Eric Hassli is loving life in British Columbia. “I want to have fun, and I want the people around me to have fun,” the 30-year-old said through teammate Philippe Davies after Thursday’s practice. “The fans have been amazing. I can feel their support.”(Marc Weber – The Province)

Remember former ‘Caps goalkeeper Simon Thomas? “The young goalkeeper, the Caps' backup to Jay Nolly last year, was told he needed to play more games to develop and those chances weren't likely to come in Vancouver”.Now, England appears to be the perfect landing spot for the 21-year old (Bruce Constantineau – Vancouver Sun).

While Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Mustapha Jarju continues to learn all of the ins and outs of MLS, “Whitecaps coach Tom Soehn said the club’s second designated player — who made his Major League Soccer debut on July 20 — still needs to get used to his new teammates and improve his level of fitness” (Bruce Constantineau – Vancouver Sun).

In this blog, Portland Timbers have created quite an environment during their first season as an expansion franchise inside MLS. “I'm going to admit it right from the start. I envy Portland and what the Timbers Army bring to the MLS show. If you’ve seen any of their matches on TV so far this year, electric doesn’t even begin to describe the game day atmosphere” (Michael McColl – Metro Vancouver).
