'Caps and fans

This weekend, Vancouver Whitecaps FC supporters will travel to Portland, Oregon, to take in the match between Whitecaps FC and Portland Timbers. They will be there to take in the action live, cheering on their side, in what will prove to be an exciting match between two long-time rivals.

Whitecaps FC and the Timbers are in their inaugural MLS seasons and share a history which dates back many years. The approximately six-hour drive between Vancouver and Portland make it possible for fans to travel between the two cities to take in the matches live. Over the years, many fans have travelled from Vancouver to Portland, and this weekend is no different, as 500 fans will make the trek to witness the first meeting of these two sides in MLS history.

Fans purchased their tickets for this Saturday’s match through Uniglobe Vision Travel Group.

The two teams will play each other for a second time on Sunday, October 2, when Whitecaps FC host the Timbers. The October 2 match will be the first Whitecaps FC match to be played at the club’s new home on Bell Pitch downtown at BC Place.
