VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:
With just over a month until Whitecaps FC play their first match on Bell Pitch downtown, the excitement continues to grow as the renovations to BC Place near completion. “To have a stadium here, right in the heart of downtown is very special,” said Paul Barber, Whitecaps FC CEO. “I think it will add to the match day experience”(Global BC).
With the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency program set to expand in the upcoming season, two Winnipeg soccer stars, Marcos Bustos and Ali Musse. “It’s a very good opportunity and I think it will open some doors for him,” said Marcos’ father Alex, a former member of the Winnipeg Fury (Jim Bender – Winnipeg Sun).
Following training on Tuesday, Whitecaps FC striker Eric Hassli apologized to fans and teammates for heading straight to the locker after being substituted against Portland. Said Hassli: “I just don't want to give the wrong impression for the other players. I have a lot of respect for them..."  (Marc Weber – The Province).
One positive from the last match was the impression that Whitecaps FC rookie Jeb Brovsky made on the ‘Caps back-line. “I thought overall he was quite steady,” assistant coach Colin Miller told MLSsoccer.com of Brovsky's performance in Portland. “He’s definitely a work in progress, as are most of the players coming out of college and university”(Martin MacMahon –MLSsoccer.com).
