MLSsoccer.com unveiled today that Vancouver Whitecaps FC goalkeeper Joe Cannon is one of five nominees for the MLS Save of the Week.
The experienced shot-stopper earned the Week 24 nomination after making a key stop in the second half of last Saturday's 1-0 home win over Houston Dynamo. The 36-year-old was equal to Brian Ching's goal-bound header after Houston left fullback Corey Ashe played a fine cross into the Vancouver box.
This is Cannon's third nomination of the season, having earned previous considerations for 'Save of the Week' in Weeks 17 and 20. Fellow 'Caps goalkeeper Jay Nolly, meanwhile, received nominations back in Weeks Four and Nine.
