VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:

This Sunday afternoon, Vancouver Whitecaps FC will be looking to play spoiler against their Pacific Northwest nemesis Portland Timbers. The Timbers, who currently sit in 12th place in the MLS Western Conference standings, are two points out of the tenth and final playoff berth (Marc Weber – The Province).


With the ‘Caps set to play their first match on Bell Pitch downtown at the newly renovated BC Place, Whitecaps FC CEO Paul Barber is certainly excited: “Honestly, you could count the number of world-class stadiums on the fingers of one hand that meet all the criteria that BC Place now meets” (Jim Morris – Globe and Mail).

The Canadian men’s soccer team has announced their roster for their upcoming October 7 match in St. Lucia and October 11 match against Puerto Rico as part of CONCACAF qualification to the 2014 FIFA World Cup (CSA).
