MLSsoccer.com have unveiled that Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Nizar Khalfan is one of five nominees for Goal of the Week.

After a long kick up field from goalkeeper Joe Cannon, rookie striker Omar Salgado flicked a header over to Khalfan, who controlled the ball on the bounce before unleashing a dipping volley into the bottom corner to cap off a 3-0 Whitecaps win against Real Salt Lake.
This is Khalfan’s first Goal of the Week nomination of the season and the eighth nomination overall for Whitecaps FC, including a Week 13 winner from Eric Hassli against Seattle Sounders FC and a Week 27 winner from Davide Chiumiento against New York Red Bulls.
