'Caps Chronicle: Time for a break

Vancouver Whitecaps FC post-season training camp wrapped up yesterday with an exciting intra-squad match. “There were chances created, shots on goal and goals being scored. Overall I was pretty pleased with it. It was mainly a lot of younger players playing in that game, and I thought they all acquitted themselves pretty well,” said an impressed Martin Rennie, the new head coach of the club.  (Martin MacMahon – MLSsoccer.com)

"After the expansion draft, we can tell players much more clearly what our plan is," explained Rennie in regards to the ‘Caps roster. The list of protected players must be submitted to MLS by November 21, with the expansion draft taking place on November 23. (Bruce Constantineau – The Vancouver Sun)

Jay DeMerit, Captain of Whitecaps FC, is still in awe about the likes of having his very own movie - "It’s crazy. The whole project has been amazing to be a part of and to see it come to what it is now - two years ago it was just an idea. Now, we're in 240 theatres and I'm buying Twizzlers at my own movie,” said DeMerit in response to his documentary coming out.  (Marc Weber – The Province)
