WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:

Whitecaps FC are starting to feel lucky after they added newest ‘Cap defender Greg Klazura. The former Notre Dame Fighting Irish captain adds to a relationship that has slowly been building between Whitecaps FC and the university. It’s been about a month since head coach John Herdman led the Canadian women’s national team to a berth at the London 2012 Summer Olympics. As the preparation for the Olympics continues, the squad is now focusing on capturing their third straight Cyprus Cup. There are more than a few former Whitecaps FC women on the Canadian team that will participate in the Cyprus Cup. Canada opens the tournament against Scotland on February 28. Dr. Rick Celebrini, who acted as a consultant last year for Whitecaps FC, has joined the medical team full-time for the upcoming season as the head of sports medicine and science. As a former player and captain with the club from 1992 to 1995, Celebrini has gone on to create an outstanding medical career. Get to know Dr. Rick Celebrini a little better. (whitecapsfc.com)
