Your mission should you choose to accept it? Put together the best MLS squad you can within the salary cap. The scoring officially begins in Week 5 (April 4th) so be sure to enter your team before the deadline or you'll risk playing catch-up with points. You'll also be automatically registered to compete in the Global MLSsoccer.com league to see how you fare against other team's supporters.
Getting Started
To join the official Whitecaps FC Fantasy League, CLICK HERE and follow the sign-up instructions. Fantasy Soccer Manager requires you to sign up through your Facebook account. Don’t worry, if you don’t want your Facebook friends to see everything you are doing — like mistakenly swapping out Joe Cannon before a shutout! — you can set it up that way. Once your roster is established you can make changes to your squad or check on your team's progress by following the link on the Whitecaps site navigation under 'FANS'.
Scoring System
The usual aspects of any soccer fantasy point system are all included (goals, assists, cards), but there are also a number of intriguing additions. With the help of Opta stats compiled for every MLS match, players can receive attacking and defending bonuses: Midfielders receive points when their team keeps a clean sheet, giving credit to their defensive efforts. A goalkeeper receives a point for every three saves he makes, while a defender receives an extra point for every six clearances, blocks, or interceptions. Now that you have the basics down, you can start combing through the players to see who you like, who you want, and who you can afford.

In addition to bragging rights over your friends, Whitecaps FC will announce prizes to be awarded at the end of the season to the players with the top scores in the official Whitecaps FC Fantasy League. Register your team today to ensure your chance to win. While anyone is free to join, all prizes awarded by Vancouver Whitecaps FC will be limited to residents of British Columbia, Canada.
